Why to wait until be 21 to drink?

In the article "Drinking age" Ross states that the major issue is not allowing 18 to 20 year old teenagers to drink since the legal age to drink in the United States is 21. In my opinion, I agree with Ross’ comment mainly because I lived in South America when I was 18 and I was allowed to drink and therefore, I forced myself to be more conscious of my acts. I think that by allowing 18 to 20 year old teenagers to drink, teenagers will become more responsible. I even think that car accidents, smuggling, and any other issues associated with teenager’s misdemeanor because of alcohol consumption will reduce. Moreover, by allowing teenagers above 18 to drink, Texas Government has a chance to provide further education to our young people above the use of the alcohol and its consequences. Our major goal as citizens is to do our best to prevent and reduce any type of harm to our society even if it leads the Texas Government to change its current law.

  1. In the article What About Inmates? a reach for helping the unfortunate is discussed. I agree with all my heart that people deserve second chances and as humans we're prone to error in our judgment. In certain cases inmates should be given specific jobs especially if they were in prison for sex offenses or abusing children. In extreme cases maybe if we gave them a job with supervision or gave them somewhere to start. Giving them hope could go a long way in turning around their lives. If we give them the cold shoulder we're just expecting them to commit a crime again or digging them a deeper hole.

We feel that society is safer with the current system we have. I would have to disagree because we're putting our citizens at risk of ex cons by giving them no other choice but to go out and commit crime. If their turned away from everywhere they try to get a job they could be developing some serious problems mentally.

In a time when unemployment is high unemployment is extremely high for ex cons. Those who find jobs usually find themselves at the bottom of the barrel not making much money. They think it's much more lucrative to go out and commit crimes to earn money than to earn an honest living. I think we should provide more support for ex inmates and give them a better shot at succeeding.
